Scotland is an insufficiently explored country for a large number of tourists. This is due to the island’s position on the geographical map, the relatively harsh climate and other features of the British Isles in general. True lovers of Flemish culture and architecture come here. But recently the flow of tourists has been steadily increasing. Hot countries have become fairly boring and a true traveller prefers to go to places that are interesting from a historical point of view. This can be done by watching an online tour of Scotland in a convenient format or by visiting as part of a tourist tour.

The area of Perthshire with its capital in Perth became known far beyond Scotland after one significant cultural event took place. In the 9th century, the most valuable artefact, the Stone of Destiny, was delivered to Scone. Automatically, this area became a centre of attraction for many pilgrims and subsequently acquired the status of capital of Scotland.

The good development of crafts and trade allowed the settlement to receive urban status in the mid-12th century.

Fate has made this area famous more than once. It was here that the so-called Scottish Reformation of the mid-16th century was proclaimed, the essence of which was the extermination of idolatry. The fight against paganism was led by preacher John Knox who read the corresponding sermon publicly in the Church of John the Baptist.

Approximately a hundred years later the Academy was founded within the city limits which led to an even greater increase in the economic and political importance of Perth.

Manufacturers and industrialists appreciated the convenient geographical location. Today, with an area of 18 sq km the administrative centre is officially called “city”.
