Hello everyone, I am with you again. Today we will take a walk or rather visit one very interesting place – the Camera Obscura in Edinburgh or, as it is called, ‘Miracles under one roof’.
Camera Obscura, well I have only heard of it, but have not yet seen it live. This is a wonderful place for recreation and entertainment for all ages. Here you can partake in over 100 illusions as well as inhale some fresh air outside on the magnificent rooftop terrace which offers the most breathtaking 360-degree views of Edinburgh. In Camera Obscura & World of Illusions, that is, Camera Obscura World of Illusions, there are five floors of interactive practical optical illusions, tricks and fun things to do including a vortex tunnel, a mirror maze and a shrinking room. But exactly how it will shrink you only find out once you go inside.
Here you can touch, turn on and play with everything. And the attraction itself is located in a 17th century building without an elevator, just a stone’s throw from Edinburgh Castle.
According to a publication by the Telegraph this is the best family attraction in Britain, 5 stars of world class.
And you will climb the mountain through the mound, in translation ‘The Mound’, this is an artificial slope that connects the Old and New Towns of Edinburgh. It was formed by dumping one and a half million carts of earth excavated from the foundations of the New City into Lake Nor Lough which was drained in 1765 and today forms Princes Street Gardens.
And so, welcome to the world of illusion.
